Connecting World-Class Military Community Talent with American Employers

Tuesday, August 11, 2026

Sonoran Pueblo Event Center

Transitioning service members, veterans, military spouses, and military caregivers are invited to explore career opportunities, build professional skills, and connect directly with employers during the MCAS Yuma Career Summit on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at the Sonoran Pueblo Event Center aboard Marine Corps Air Station Yuma.

Hosted by Hiring Our Heroes, an initiative of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, the in-person event is designed to connect highly qualified members of the military community with local, regional, and national employers seeking skilled talent. Participating organizations are expected to represent industries including aviation, defense contracting, logistics, project management, cybersecurity, and information technology.

The summit will begin with job seeker workshops from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sessions will cover topics such as compensation and salary negotiation, SkillBridge and training opportunities, and interview preparation. A hiring fair will follow from 1:30 to 4 p.m., providing attendees with an opportunity to speak directly with representatives from organizations recruiting for open positions.

The event will be held at the Sonoran Pueblo Event Center, 1200 Hart Street, Yuma, Arizona.

Registration for Job Seekers

The Career Summit is open to transitioning service members, veterans, military spouses, military caregivers, and other eligible members of the military community.

Job seekers can complete the Hiring Our Heroes attendee registration form to begin the registration process. Hiring Our Heroes’ Career Connector team reviews registrant information, connects participants with available career resources, and helps ensure job seekers are prepared for upcoming hiring events.

Because the event will take place aboard MCAS Yuma, all job seekers must already have their own authorized access to the installation. Event organizers will not be able to provide base access or sponsor entry for attendees.

Employers Invited to Participate

Employers with current or anticipated hiring needs are also encouraged to apply for booth space at the summit. The event offers businesses an opportunity to meet military-connected candidates who bring valuable technical expertise, leadership experience, adaptability, teamwork, and mission-focused problem-solving skills to the civilian workforce.

Organizations interested in participating can submit the Hiring Our Heroes employer registration form. Registration is considered a request for space and is not guaranteed until the organization has been reviewed and receives confirmation from Hiring Our Heroes. Employers should submit a separate registration for each team member who plans to attend.

Approved employers will receive instructions and guidance regarding the process for obtaining access to MCAS Yuma.

The MCAS Yuma Career Summit supports an important connection between the military community and the regional workforce. By bringing together talented job seekers and employers with active hiring needs, the event can help service members and their families prepare for their next chapter while helping businesses identify experienced, highly capable employees.
